"WIGHT THE
WAY AWOUND!”
Sponsored
event for Mowat
Wilson Syndrome
(Team members -
Hayley Noon,
Rosie Laker,
Marie Trapp,
Alison Smith and
Sue Hughes)
It’s amazing
isn’t it….the
lengths we will
all go to, to
raise money for
a worthwhile
cause?! But this
weekend our team
learnt that when
the going gets
tough…keep
thinking of that
worthwhile cause
and it’s enough
to keep you
going!
On Saturday 2nd
and Sunday 3rd
September 2006
our team
conquered the
gruelling,
hilly, 70 mile,
Round The Island
Tour of the Isle
of Wight. Very
sadly, we
ventured out one
man down, as Sue
Hughes broke her
thumb on a
training cycle
just days before
our departure!
All the elements
were against us
as we battled
our way through
persistent rain,
gale force winds
and hazardous
dense
fog!!…”Freak
weather for this
time of year” we
were told by the
locals…..typical!
Ever the
optimist, I like
to think the
severe weather
conditions just
added character
to the weekend!
Sporting our
bright yellow
MWS t-shirts
(sponsored by
Exeter Joinery)
we drew plenty
of attention to
ourselves, which
gave us lots of
opportunity to
tell people
about MW
Syndrome…whilst
whipping up a
few more
donations along
the way!
We hope to have
raised in excess
of £650 for
MWSSG this
weekend…and had
fun whilst doing
it!
